We initially emanated from classic building forms and city plans, where the buildings have a strong sense of dignity and integrity. The plans are robust, proven and last over time. To this we added playful details and functions that give the buildings both energy and character and put them in a new up-to-date year ring. The conditions of the detail plan provide a very intricate and fine balance in scales, which we have chosen to affirm instead of pressing the limits of the building right.

 

We have chosen to emphasize Torghuset’s imminent presence and size to create a profiling building for the area. The three town villas bring the scale down and the spaces between them become secret courtyards. The townhouses’ slender facades, in combination with their flaunty gardens, create a friendly, small-scale garden city environment with human dimensions that interact with the surrounding residential and townhouse areas.

The patios around the courtyards give all residents direct access to the common qualities and create a safe and pleasant environment with good visibility. The farms are equipped with functions that promote meetings and creation in ways such as cultivation, common room in greenhouses, a grading with bicycle workshop, outdoor gym and playground.

 

All entrances are oriented towards the surrounding streets, of various scales, with their own entrance space, which gives the residents direct access to the street network and gives the entrance facades a slightly more urban and representative character. All parking is located next to the neighborhood streets to protect the courtyards as safe and green environments. Making sure there are possibilities having the bike accessible right at the entrance is an effective way making sure it is being used regularly.
