HOUSING NORRKÖPING

 

 

The housing block combines the urban nerve of the inner city and the lush greenery of the suburbs. The buildings have a coherent choice of materials and colors, but with varying design and a division of independent volumes, with one vertical and one horizontal. 

 

An increased ceiling height on the ground floor enables “bokaler” on the ground floor, a form of housing where housing and premises are combined. Above these “bokaler” are well-planned, smaller apartments located and on the ground floor there are room for common functions, such as recycling houses, lending of shared tools and a bicycle workshop. A shared economy in the neighborhood encourages both social and ecological sustainability, which is consistent throughout the project.

 

The buildings are made with a wooden frame and equipped with solar panels on the roofs, the yard is equipped with both an outdoor gym, playground, space for cultivation and patios.
