HOTEL GÄVLE

 

 

Proposal for a hotelconcept for a land allocation competition in Gävle.

 

The purpose of the proposal is to expand the existing arena's (Gävlevallen) operations and overall experience with an associated hotel. The proposal for two buildings, adjacent to the arena, is each on 14 floors and rises from two of the arena's parallel corners.

 

With the addition, the existing arena's operations are developed at the same time as we hope to lay the foundation for a new hotel concept  where the hotel towers become a natural and integrated extension of the arena´s boundaries and operations and offer its visitors a fantastic overview of both the arena and the city of Gävle. A shared entrance and restaurant/café at street level, between the arena and hotel, provide strong communication between the different parts and create a lively and open environment around the arena.

 

The towers offer afar visitors an easy and comfortable means of stay in direct connection to the arena with close proximity to other sport facilities and activities. Meaning both an attractive destination for various fans and athletes as well as giving the area an economical upswing and many new job opportunities. Cementing the hotel project as a token for the citys’ love for sports and consolidates the area, Gavlehov Arenaby, as one of the nations foremost arena districts.
